There has been some heated discussion in the tech community these last few weeks on the release of the Iphone 4g. This next generation of Iphone is suppose to be the latest and greatest gadget on the 2010 market. Most of the current discussion on this popular phone is the actual loss of the prototype by an Apple employee.
The story goes a little like this: An Apple program is out at the bar for his birthday and accidentally leaves his phone on a bar stool. The tech savvy people at Gizmodo.com get a hold of the phone and completely spill the beans on it’s inner workings. The question is “Is this really the next generation in Iphones or is it just a great way to get Gizmodo.com publicity?”. All signs at this point are pointing to this phone being the real deal.
Gizmodo.com points out very few features on the phones actual application upgrades however the design seems to be much better. The new Iphone 4g will feature a front lens camera along with separate volume increase and decrease buttons. For older Iphone users you will remember how annoying the increase and decrease bar is. The round back of the older style Iphones have been replaced with a flat back and flat edges. This seems to go along with the new wave of designs for cellular phones already out on the market today.
The few application changes point to giving the user more options. Options seem to have been cleaned up a bit while more options on other applications have been added. Users will now be able to change the background of their application menu as well as the lock out screen. With the Iphone 4g users will also be able to determine a picture size to be sent in e-mails. This gives users the option to scale between a faster download for the receiver or a higher quality picture. One feature I know many Iphone users will be happy about is the addition of a spell checker. Another fun feature is a birthday calendar. You will now be able to add your contacts birthday dates and have your calendar show you alerts for those birthdays. This feature can also be toggled on and off.
While I am sure there is many more features yet to come before release we are certain to see another amazing product produced by Apple this Year.
